Revenue Accounting Manager - Technical Accounting

Who We Are:

Twitter is looking for an experienced Manager for our Technical Revenue Accounting team. who can be a key contributor in a high-energy accounting and finance organization. You  have at least 10 years of combined experience in a leadership role at a global organization or public accounting firms. You are a strategic thinker while having the proven ability to get into the day to day details.

What You'll Do:

  • Review all revenue related contracts to determine proper revenue recognition methodology, including complete accounting summary for each contracts

  • Solved a broad range of complex revenue recognition issues

  • Coordinate and partnered with business partners during contract negotiations; advise on transaction structure with respect to revenue recognition and to align contract terms to the operating objectives

  • Write technical revenue accounting position paper for nonstandard complex arrangement

  • Collaborate with group leads to operationalize deal arrangement.

  • Assist with timely and accurate close of the revenue cycle and all associated reporting and reconciliations

  • Assist with global revenue policies - Implement end to end revenue processes and address complexities relating to internationalization and revenue recognition

  • Responsible for ensuring the accounting system is in compliance with the latest revenue recognition literature and lead the system update/upgrade efforts if needed

  • Understanding and experience with new revenue recognition standard

  • Lead the development and implementation of new procedures and system features to enhance the workflow of the department

  • Collaborate with business groups throughout the Company – effectively communicating on deal arrangements, and educating on revenue recognition requirements and associated guidance

  • Provide support to ensure financial audit/review requirements are met

  • Ensure compliance to with SOX 404 key controls in the order to cash cycle, accurate GAAP reporting and audit requirements

  • SProven record of leadership, strong business ethics, co-ordinating and managing business teamsand growing a team

  • Strategic thinker with an attention to detail

  • You have strong analytical, financial, accounting, communication and problem solving skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting - CPA or equivalent required

  • 10+ years of work experience required, including public accounting experience, with at least 5+ years in hands-on support of revenue accounting cycles

  • Extensive knowledge of technical revenue accounting and operations; in particular revenue recognition accounting literature, including the new revenue recognition standard

  • Hands-on experience with SFDC, Oracle and Aquarius Rev Stream ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite and contract management system required
