The Analytics team at Twitter works to turn these data points into actionable insights to all business units around the company. We spearhead complicated and important analyses and find creative ways to make big data accessible in order to guide exploration and decision-making.

What You’ll Do:

You will be a core member of the Product Data Science group within the Analytics team working closely with cross-functional partners in engineering, product, and design. In this position, you will perform analyses to provide valuable, actionable insights to help Twitter grow our business in a way that makes us proud.

As such, you will:

  • Investigate and prioritize new product initiatives, conduct and evaluate A/B tests, and create metrics to optimize existing products and monitor the success of product features

  • Communicate results and insights to internal stakeholders

  • Use tools such as SQL, Python/R , Tableau or Zeppelin to do analysis and build data visualizations for Analytics, Engineering, and Product teams

  • You are analytically minded and take organized approaches to problem solving. You break down issues into smaller pieces and have a strong desire to dig into data to guide your thinking. You’re a strategic thinker and can provide actionable insights from your analyses.

  • You are a self-starter who is capable of learning on the job, takes initiative, and can thrive within a large team

  • You can pivot from blockers and develop a new approach when there are no precedents

  • You are a clear and effective communicator

  • You are personable, approachable, and able to connect with each and every person on the team and throughout the business

Requirements:

  • Degree in Math, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields with some experience with statistics

  • 1-2 years work experience in an analytical role

  • Strong proficiency with SQL, some experience with scripting languages such as Python or R, and data visualization

  • Willingness to learn new tools to access, analyze, and visualize data

Engineering Hiring Process

Step 1

Once your application is received, a recruiter will reach out pending your qualifications are a match for the role.

Step 2

If your background is a match, you may have 1-2 technical phone interviews or be given the chance to provide a work sample depending on the role.

Step 3

If the phone interviews go well or your work sample is strong, the final step includes interviews with 5-6 people held onsite in our office.
