Accounting Manager, G&A

Who We Are:

Twitter operates in over 40+ offices around the globe. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support General & Administrative (G&A) teams. 

What You’ll Do:

  • You will lead the Company’s GL team for G&A functional area, which includes execution of monthly accounting close process, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with US GAAP.

  • You will be responsible for review of journals and recons of expenses, accruals, prepaid, deferred rent, sublease income, deposits and various other accounts.

  • You are responsible for the Legal Accrual Process, working with the Legal team to better utilize Serengeti, to help automate and provide continued efficiency

  • Manage staff located in our Shared Service Center operations, ensuring they stay on task and all errors are found before JEs are posted to GL and/or recons loaded in ARM. Offer continued support and guidance by meeting with them regularly pre/post close

  • Lead the implementation of standard methodologies in GL team to scale with our business and international expansion

  • Manage and prepare documentation for internal and external audit requests and support external reporting requirements

  • Provide guidance to business partners relating to accounting policies and best practice and build relationship with business partners and can influence in compliance.

  • Participate in the implementation or optimization of ERP system to drive efficient and effective processes

  • Represent US G&A team, participate in and contribute to global DRI projects by collaborating with global RTR teams

  • Own relevant GL controls and processes to ensure SOX compliance

  • Prepare and present monthly P/L and B/S flux for management review on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Prepare and also present analysis at quarter end for invoices below accrual threshold to substantiate standing accruals with FP&A and Sr. Management

  • Other responsibilities may include but not limited to: assisting in minimal payroll accounting review, SAAS accounting review, participate in special projects, system enhancements, or ad hoc analysis as assigned

Who You Are:

  • You have recent experience with Google docs and google hangouts

  • You have good knowledge of Serengeti for use of accruals

  • You are experienced with ARM or equivalent account reconciliation tool

  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills

  • You are able to work independently in a rapidly changing environment while delivering on-time accurate results

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with relevant work experience

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience with global public company of at least 3000+ employee’s

  • You have experience managing 3rd party staff (ie: shared service) and led accounting projects including implementation of tools to increase efficiency

  • In depth knowledge of US GAAP

  • Minimum 1 year recent work experience using Oracle R12

  • Excel super user (pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, sumif(s) etc.)
