The Position

Twitter is seeking an experienced digital leader to drive the growth of our advertisement business in Japan.  This is a rare opportunity to lead growing business on one of the most exciting communication products ever invented as Twitter continues to the future of healthy conversations. 

The Director of TCS will lead revenue generation from key industry verticals in TCS Japan to contribute to grow Twitter into its next horizon of growth and market impact.  This role will lead client relationships across a portfolio of key verticals with the market’s most strategic accounts and their advertising agencies.  The Director of TCS will lead the operations of the sales team in verticals, and drive its sales strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of business leadership, strategic thinking, analytical problem solving and deep product knowledge all with a country-specific perspective.  He/she will lead the C-level engagement at external meetings.  He/she will also be expected to foster a creative, productive and innovative cultural aligned with Twitter overall, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team of Twitter Japan. 

Cross-functional collaboration will also be of paramount importance as this highly visible role must partner successfully with Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Engineering and Human Resources.

  • Being well recognized as an influential industry thought leader and spokesperson for Twitter to help shape the Company’s reputation and the direction of the country.

  • Strong Leader and Builder of teams: This person should have strong track record of building and leading great teams. This executive will be able to demonstrate a track record in hiring and developing talent who have gone on to be leaders in other organizations, or have followed this person to new roles and wanted to work for her/him again. This former team will attribute their success to their time working with her/him.

  • Leading complex cross functional projects to successful outcome both in terms of meeting objectives and doing so in a way that is true to our Corporate Values.

 

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of demonstrated career progression and strong performance as a senior leader, ideally in digital content, platform sales or related business.  A minimum of 10 years leading a sales or partnership development organization.

  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating deals at senior levels of major brand and/or media companies; ideally brings deep relationships from the media and agency landscape.

  • Knowledge of mobile and internet products and technologies; well-developed product sensibility and experience leading creative discussions regarding potentially innovative, unique and engaging context and product offerings

  • Track-record of collaboration and influencing across a large organization to deliver to expectations.

  • Management of a team across countries in a client-facing environment.

  • Proven ability to use measurements and analytics to position data to illustrate impact.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
