Twitter Next Lab is an embedded team within Twitter Next with the remit to push the limits of what we can imagine and make possible with Twitter for our most innovative brands, content providers, and agency partners.

The Creative Development team exists to drive the ideation, concepting, and launch of our most ambitious, noteworthy ideas. We are looking to add an outstanding Creative Development Partner.

The Position

Who You Are

You are a strategic, creative thinker who lives and breathes ideas. Your north star: developing and distilling concept-level ideas that are bold, ambitious, and concise enough to drive headlines.

You thrive working with a creative partner and collaborating with a larger cross functional team. You believe good ideas come from everywhere, and create an environment where people from all functions feel equally empowered and involved in the creative process in the pursuit of developing an idea together as one team.

You have experience that guides your sense of what makes an idea that moves people to talk about it (on and off Twitter). You know how to architect pitches and stories that sell ambitious, creative work to senior marketers, with a track record of launching breakthrough brand-building activations that infiltrate culture.

You provide input and feedback that pushes an idea to its clearest expression with the ability to help team's identify, distill, and communicate a concept, ensuring it solves problems that matter and delivers brand and business outcomes. You're equally energized by concepting that idea, as you are helping, building on, and refining ideas that teammates propose to make them “worth talking about”.

You're a champion of the core concept throughout the creative process—with an ability to use that conviction to help your teammates adapt to feedback and change, ensuring the spirit of an idea is retained from brainstorm through production.

You have an obsessive curiosity about what makes audiences and culture tick on Twitter and the world at large, a fluency (and excitement) in working with research and data experts to better understand the conversation, and the ability to distill multiple observations into an illuminating way to frame a problem that unlocks a creative idea. You believe the best creative work is strategic, and the best strategic work is creative.

You're passionate about the intersection of technology and communication, with experience working directly with technologists, developers, UX designers, producers as well vendors to build things that create innovative ways to express an idea to people.

You provide and communicate feedback with confidence and empathy. You believe that diverse, inclusive teams who represent the communities they serve are critical to creating great work.

You use Twitter, love Twitter, and are curious about the limitless opportunity that exists to create new things with Twitter.

What You'll Do

The Creative Development Partner will be accountable for maximizing the ambition and sell-through of big, noteworthy ideas. Key responsibilities include:

Creative Concept Leadership

  • Collaborate deeply with strategists, technologists, and producers to land on a clear, headline-worthy concept that can be communicated succinctly to multiple audiences, by orchestrating and leading the idea development phase of pitches with a creative partner.
  • Contribute clarity, direction, and input throughout the brainstorming process led by Strategists. Determine the best path forward based on the cross-functional team's proposed concepts. When needed, provide input on how to push concepts further or re-think concepts in service of maximizing their ability to drive conversation on Twitter.
  • Distill ideas into punchy, bold concept statements, enabling other functions to expand upon and improve how an idea is brought to life.
  • Partner with creative technologists and producers to invent new ways to use Twitter in service of an idea.
  • Be the guardian of the concept throughout the production process. Ensure the core spirit of an idea is represented throughout the refinement, build, and delivery phases (which includes remaining an active participant in projects all the way through launch).
  • Provide actionable input and feedback on the work of your cross-functional partners, up-leveling the idea quality and final creative product.

Elevating Creative Strategy

  • Collaborate with Strategists on developing research questions, interpreting resulting data, and working with data and research experts to arrive at salient and substantiated insights.
  • Ensure an unmistakable connection between the creative concept and the insight and audience observations, actively contributing feedback and input on pitch narrative and packaging.
  • Actively participate in pitch rehearsal and client pitch delivery to help amplify how an idea is conveyed to clients with conviction, ambition, and clarity.

Elevating Collaboration

  • Welcome other functions into the creative process, building a culture of inclusivity and partnership for how multiple teams within Twitter Next rally around an idea.
  • Foster an environment of curiosity, continuous learning, and improvement with your teammates.


  • Portfolio of breakthrough strategic creative work on behalf of brands
  • Proven track record of conceptual creative ability, judgement, and responsibility for selling-through work
  • 6-9 years of experience in creative or creative strategy roles. Agency experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience delivering and digesting creative, strategic, and performance feedback
  • Ability to manage multiple high profile projects at different phases of the creative process simultaneously.
  • Elite written and verbal storytelling and pitch experience + skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leave an impactful impression through presentations and pitches
  • Adept at exploring, interpreting, and humanizing data to substantiate an idea
  • Experience working cross-functionally on a deadline to deliver projects for clients
  • World-class collaboration track record, with direct experience partnering with technology, strategy, production, research, and design experts
  • In depth knowledge of Twitter, both as a user and marketer
  • Passion for advertising, culture, and creative pursuits.
  • Curiosity and dedication to tracking the pulse of the latest trends and technologies

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 4 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role, are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Tier A: USD $127,000 - USD $166,000
  • Tier B: USD $120,000 - USD $157,000
  • Tier C: USD $114,000 - USD $149,000
  • Tier D: USD $108,000 - USD $141,000

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Sales Incentive Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
