The Position

The Product Health team is focused on ensuring people can control and understand their privacy on our platform. To do this, we build both customer facing privacy features and common infrastructure used across the company. Privacy is a complicated and constantly evolving space, but it's a critical part of building trust with users. We have prioritized privacy and data protection as one of our top company objectives. This team partners closely with our core infrastructure teams that are building a portfolio of tools for teams across the company to ensure the services they build comply with Privacy and Data Protection regulations, and is responsible for building user-facing experiences that support these goals.

Twitter is seeking a Product Manager to join our Privacy product team within our Health/Trust & Safety product organization to lead work focused on privacy and data protection regulatory compliance, and user privacy education. In this role, you will be responsible for developing end-to-end product strategies to help Twitter meet global standards related to privacy and drive execution on key functionality that supports our online safety and privacy efforts. You will have opportunities to partner with our design, research, marketing and data science teams to develop innovative ways to ensure that our customers understand our privacy policies and how to manage their own data. This is a hands-on role that requires exploring privacy from a first-principles perspective based around customers needs.

What You'll Do

  • Bring bold ideas to build industry-leading features related to online privacy and data management

  • Champion the team's mission across the company, using research and data to inspire change across internal teams and in the broader ecosystem.

  • Lead through hypothesis based product development: experiment and iterate on features, grounded in knowledge from social psychologists, data scientists, machine learning teams, internal and ecosystem partners, as well as insights from customers directly.

  • Build positive relationships across Product, Engineering, Research, Design, Data Science, Marketing, Legal, Policy, Trust & Safety, and many other partners to transform ideas into a multi-quarter roadmap.

  • Facilitate the execution of that roadmap to ship products that are ground-breaking for our customers and address external stakeholder priorities. Lead teams to deliver consistently, while building a culture where everyone feels ownership.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a strong product leader in the online safety space, have experience working on policy-informed projects in highly cross functional environments, and have a demonstrated interest in the intersection of product development and global regulation.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years' experience of delivering consumer or B2B products

  • Proven experience in the social privacy (consumer features relating to safety and privacy) or institutional privacy (business needs relating to privacy orders) domains

  • Oversight on the strategy and execution of large cross-team projects, where you had to enroll several teams to execute against a specific product vision

  • A working understanding of engineering and technical depth that lets you partner with‚Äîand earn the respect of‚Äîworld-class engineers

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and excel at building strong cross-functional partnerships within an organization

  • The ability to lead numerous projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and time constraints

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 4 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role, are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Tier A: USD $162,000 - USD $226,000
  • Tier B: USD $154,000 - USD $216,000
  • Tier C: USD $146,000 - USD $204,000
  • Tier D: USD $138,000 - USD $193,000

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
