Sales Head, Greater China - Gaming Vertical (Singapore)

Twitter has changed the way people communicate, and over the last few years, our sales teams have evolved and scaled how marketers interact with our rapidly growing user base. As we continue a hyper growth trajectory in our Greater China business, we are seeking a senior Sales Manager with deep market insight and strong leadership skills to further enhance our value to Greater China Gaming advertisers and to build a high performance team.

The Position

Lead and inspire a world-class direct sales team who covers the East and Central China Gaming market. Twitter serves large Gaming companies who export their products and services to global markets by leveraging Twitter's ever growing audience platform outside of China. This role will be based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

The Senior Sales Manager of Gaming provides thought leadership within the industry as it relates to ad serving platforms, provide deep Gaming industry and product knowledge and insights to drive creative and long term improvements to our overall platform offering, and owns quarterly regional sales forecasts, planning and budgeting. He/she builds and maintains strong relationships with all client executives and internal key stakeholders within Twitter. In more specific terms:

Strategic leadership:

  • Provide thought leadership of the Gaming industry both internally and externally - with deep insight in both Chinese advertisers' needs as well as the consumers behaviors in key countries globally.

  • Lead the strategic planning for the Gaming N+S markets, develop comprehensive forward-looking plans and execute against them with both strategic and tactical initiatives

Revenue leadership & Operational rigour:

  • Lead, manage and inspire a high performing vertical focused sales team of Client Partners and Client Account Managers with quarterly targets

  • Set a high standard and drive operational rigour in sales cadence, database management (SFDC), client coverage and sales productivity management

  • Lead and prioritize Twitter resource (both sales and all cross functional partners) so that Twitter presents a united and well synchronized front who adds value to and solves issues for our customers.

  • Lead the development and execution of in-depth account plans by directing and coaching team members in identifying diversification/cross sell opportunities, formulating value propositions, deepening senior executive relationships and securing/allocating resources.

  • Empower and enable sales team's deal success by reviewing deal progression, strengthen senior level commitment, anticipate internal/external challenges, and enhance speed and quality of policy making.

People leadership:

  • Manage the entire talent management eco system with HR, from recruiting, retaining, developing, and rewarding talent, to promotion and recognition

  • Provide coaching and mentorship and elevate the team's capability, potential and leadership development

  • Champion, develop and share best practices that will serve as the foundation for knowledge growth

  • Set examples and build trust amongst team members and across all teams to build a true high performance team.

Collaboration:

  • Lead the dialogue with sales and product management regarding market opportunities, sales positioning, and provide feedback on current products

  • Listen to the needs of the market and share the learnings internally with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Research, Brand Safety, Ad Policy, Content Partnerships and Policy Communication

  • Develop a regular communication plan and collaboration routines with all XFN partners so as to solicit experts input and enable alignment in resource allocation, issue escalation and client problem solving

Qualifications

Ideal Profile:

This successful person will be goal-oriented, driven and entrepreneurial. He/she will have a high level of IQ., EQ, Change Agility and Digital Intelligence. The ideal candidates have deep knowledge of digital media, senior-level contacts at Gaming advertisers and agency organizations, high-level direct brand relationships and a track record of achievements. The person will have a passion for people and talent development, and can inspire and lead this super growth team.

  • 15+ years of solution sales experience selling in digital media or related industry with 8+ years in Gaming industry

  • 6+ years of leading direct sales team and a proven track record of driving and closing enterprise deals

  • C-level relationships with Gaming advertisers and agency organizations in China

  • Ability to sell to large enterprises in Gaming and understanding of the organization dynamics and C-Level issues across various client departments

  • Ability to instill and improve sales process discipline and enable team sales execution to close deals

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity, manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, complex, collaborative, and team-oriented environment

  • A Change Leader who has a curious mindset and an ability to learn, adapt and grow in fast changing environment

  • A collaborator who understand organization culture and dynamics and from which, can exercise influencing power to gain cross functional support and consensus and to build strong team work.

  • Frequent business travel (post COVID)

  • BA/BSc degree, MBA preferred

  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin. Strong command of the business Mandarin is a must to work with partners and clients in the region
