Staff Product Manager, Applied ML (Media Understanding)

The Position

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead the product definition and development of twitter media understanding using ML and computer vision technologies. The ideal candidate would have both a deep technical background and a strong, customer-centric approach to product management, which has been repeatedly demonstrated through past projects. The media understanding product will impact multiple product surfaces in Twitter.  In the role you will:

 

  • Partner closely with product teams to understand their business goal and how user understanding can address their needs

  • Translate customer needs into product and technical requirements

  • Contribute to long term user understanding vision & strategy in Cortex

  • Drive clear product definition and roadmap to achieve business goals

  • Define and track metrics to measure product quality and business impact

  • Communicate product status and impact to customers, stakeholders and leadership

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, data scientists, TPM and other product managers 

  • Evangelize AI/ML across the firm and promote adoption and enablement of user understanding

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in Product Management, or similar role (engineering manager) leading cross-functional product or software engineering teams

  • 3+ years experience shipping AI/ML/Computer Vision, Data Management or Analytics products

  • Experience in launching products from 0 to 1

  • Take leadership and accountability proactively in action and results

  • Experiences in drafting product strategy and plans, driving consensus and buy-off from executives level reviews

  • Managed and successfully delivery multiple projects with complexity requiring cross team collaboration

  • MBA or Master/PhD degree in Computer Science , Statistics, Data Science or related field
