As engineers on the Data Platform team, our mission is to build the fastest, most reliable, and largest-scale data infrastructure in the world - able to cope with ever-increasing volumes of data in real time - and then apply them to the company’s most critical and fundamental data problems. 

What You'll Do

You will be part of the BI Tools team with end-end ownership of a large infrastructure. You get to design and build various infrastructure features leveraging GCP, Kubernetes etc.

You will help us solve some of our biggest challenges!

  • Evaluate, and onboard new technologies

  • Build highly reliable, multi-tenant and secured infrastructure

  • Build new tools to achieve self-serve analytics for product and business teams 

  • Understand how Twitter’s data is used and “what it all means”

  • Delight internal customers


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or other technical disciplines (MS/Ph.D. is a plus) 
  • 5+ years of experience

  • Experience in building and operating distributed backend systems in Python, Java, or Scala 

  • Strong design and architecture skills.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures background

  • Model of software engineering best practices, including agile development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with working on Visualization and/or Notebook tools like Looker, Jupyter is a plus.

Engineering hiring process
Step 1

Once your application is received, a recruiter will reach out pending your qualifications are a match for the role.

Step 2

If your background is a match, you may have 1-2 technical phone interviews or be given the chance to provide a work sample depending on the role.

Step 3

If the phone interviews go well or your work sample is strong, the final step includes interviews with 5-6 people via a video conference call.
