Android Software Engineer (Contract) - Video
Who We Are
The Media Client Infrastructure team in London builds, improves and maintains the core video player library for the Twitter & Periscope apps. We optimise video playback end-to-end: looking at how video is uploaded to Twitter, how it is encoded, and then streamed to our mobile apps. On the other side, we are responsible for packaging up our internal video player SDK in a way that is easy to use and reliable.
Our team members have diverse backgrounds ranging from video playback and encoding expertise to theoretical machine learning research and low-level compute optimization on both mobile and server architectures.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for key components in the video player infrastructure used for the Twitter and Periscope apps, with an emphasis on improving the reliability of video streaming.
You will work with people across the globe, both within our team as well as with other teams.
