The Consumer Video Client team builds rich media experiences across all clients —Web, iOS and Android— for Twitter and Periscope, including GIFs, video on demand, live broadcasts and Events.
When you log into Twitter, you’ll likely see a feature shipped by an intern. All of our interns have a hand in building a product that’s changing the world. You’re given the freedom to take risks and the ability to use your knowledge to tackle tough problems. Interns and full-time employees work hand-in-hand to empower the world to converse together.
We’ll match you with both a manager *and* mentor for support throughout your internship. In addition, you’ll meet with key leaders and innovators across the company. Every day you’ll work alongside some of the friendliest and smartest people in the business — in a transparent environment where hard work is expected and fun is never forgotten. You can expect regular team lunches, events and activities to get involved in.
Who are you?
You are someone who can bring fresh ideas from any areas, including data science or UI design. You are passionate, versatile, have an eye for detail, display team qualities and are enthusiastic to tackle new problems on the frontend, backend, or full-stack as we continue to evolve the Video and Events experience at Twitter.
You will also have some familiarity and aptitude for learning programming languages. We will both challenge and support you to do the best work during your time here.
- Research, conceive and build compelling new experiences in feature areas related to Video and Events
- Develop strong skills and best practices on the team through participation in design and code reviews
- Work on solving challenging technical issues
- Collaborate on problems that come your way
- Pursuing a BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related technical field
- Some experience or familiarity with one or more general purpose programming languages
- Students must be available for a full-time minimum 12-week internship from June 2019 to August 2019
Engineering Hiring Process
Once your application is received, a recruiter will reach out pending your qualifications are a match for the role.
If your background is a match, you may have 1-2 technical phone interviews or be given the chance to provide a work sample depending on the role.
If the phone interviews go well or your work sample is strong, the final step includes interviews with 5-6 people held onsite in our office.
