Twitter is a world-wide communications platform that is changing how people interact and communicate at home and at work. The Twitter @Policy team focuses on public policy issues posed by the continuing spread of digital technology and web-based communications services around the world. These issues range from freedom of expression, online safety, intellectual property, copyright, privacy, and Internet freedom.


The @Policy team works to showcase the role of Twitter in government and for civic participation. The @Policy team is also on the forefront in advancing and guiding our #TwitterForGood corporate philanthropy efforts. As a Fellow on the @Policy team in Brussels, this is your opportunity to be part of these conversations and actively assist in the development and advocacy of public policy solutions to pressing high technology issues. This is a paid role.


Responsibilities:

Monitor issues of importance to Twitter in across Europe

Conduct research into tech policy issues and draft documents as needed

Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for engagement with policymakers, regulators and lawmakers

Help identify opportunities to ensure that key government, political and civil society representatives and organisations understand and make best use of Twitter

Help implement our corporate philanthropy programme through the effective administration of our Ads for Good programme

Coordinate with Twitter colleagues across other teams and provide updates for them on policy developments


Skills and experience:

A keen interest in Twitter and ideally, proficiency with the Twitter service

A knowledge of Belgian and European policies and politics and regulation important to Twitter

You’ll be super-organised and love creating processes and procedures that make everyone’s lives easier

Strong communications and interpersonal skills

Fluent in English

A second European language - ideally French - would be a bonus

Knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint, and other presentation programs

A good sense of humour and perspective will help immensely

Hiring Process
