Data and Technology Communications Lead

Twitter is looking for an experienced PR professional to lead communications efforts for Twitter’s technology, data and developer products and initiatives. This position will will be responsible for leading the global communications narrative and strategy around infrastructure and technology, developer and data products, and partner solutions, working closely with senior leadership across the company. This role will work globally and cross-functionally with Twitter’s communications team. The ideal candidate works well with media and has strong, established relationships with key tech and business reporters in this field.

You should be able to work independently on product announcements and messaging development, strategic collaborations with internal Twitter product and marketing teams as well as Twitter partners, and proactive stories that shed light on the unique opportunities that our platform offers. Of course, you should also be an excellent writer who is comfortable writing under tight deadlines.

This role can be located in San Francisco or Boulder, CO.


  • Be an expert on and drive communications strategy around Twitter’s data business, infrastructure and technology, and developer platform
  • Inform and enable global communications teams to execute local outreach for product and feature launches and events
  • Develop relationships with tech, developer and business press; manage and respond to relevant press inquiries
  • Provide strategic counsel to executive spokespeople and marketing teams
  • Build strategic narrative around Twitter’s data and technology business; responsible for identifying and training spokespeople for press and speaking opportunities
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, etc.) to align with technology, developer, and partner narratives and build communication plans around launches and events.


  • Minimum 5-8 years in communications
  • Proven track record in creating successful media relations campaigns
  • Solid relationships with top tier technology and business press
  • Experience handling comms for developer tools/services or mobile platform required; business-to-business experience preferred
  • Excellent judgement and writing skills, especially on deadline
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work on small teams and independently to create and execute on plans
  • An understanding of and interest in the latest tech and mobile products
