Developer Advocate

New York, NY

Twitter’s Data and Enterprise Solutions team (DES) builds and owns Twitter's commercial Data Products, Enterprise Solutions, and the developer platform. Today thousands of B2B software tools - such as customer service, social analytics, marketing management, and more - rely on Twitter’s platform and help to make Twitter more valuable for businesses. Developers are crafting new applications using the platform every single day. We are one of the fastest growing parts of Twitter today.

We are seeking a Developer Advocate to support developers building businesses and applications on the Twitter platform. In this role, you will inspire developers to build on Twitter platform, through creating compelling content including code samples, blog posts, and documentation, and by interacting with them directly, taking part in speaking events and through Twitter’s developer community forums. You’ll also work closely with DES product and marketing teams to channel developer feedback, and inform future product plans.

What you’ll do

  • Drive momentum and product adoption, by working with developers who are building businesses on our platform

  • Excite developers about working with Twitter data and our APIs, by creating content like blog posts and technical guides, and by presenting at events and conferences, or hosting meetups.

  • Collect insights from developers using our products, to guide the direction of our developer platform - you’ll be their advocate into our engineering and product teams.

  • Provide scalable support to developers by engaging in community forums, and by creating code samples and other technical materials

Who you are

  • Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly, both verbally and in writing

  • Skilled and comfortable writing (and supporting) Open Source code

  • Confident in creating presentations, and delivering them to audiences of varying sizes and backgrounds

  • Familiar with growing and maintaining relationships with developers of various types

  • Capable of collaborating with multi-functional teams in our worldwide offices

  • Creative, empathetic, and clever, with clear communication skills

  • Ready to travel regularly

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience working directly with developers, and publicly advocating for technology and APIs through speaking and writing

  • Experience developing code and contributing to Open Source projects
