Brand Manager, Consumer Marketing, Japan (Tokyo)
Twitter is looking for a seasoned marketing leader to help set the vision for the brand, and clearly articulate it across the Japanese market. This role is primarily about taking the magic that happens on the Twitter platform, as well as the extraordinary earned media we receive, and converting it into a clear consumer benefit that can be communicated everywhere, every day. Through a range of strategies, the successful candidate will lead a team that answers one simple question in the mind’s of non-users: why should I use Twitter every day?
This position will oversee audience planning, strategic territory development, messaging, campaign development and the Japan local rollout of all brand activations. The successful candidate will need to have deep expertise in taking large brands / products to market, working cross-functionally and globally, and the ability to turn a range of data sources into consumer insights.
This role will report into the Head of Consumer Marketing in Tokyo. As a part of the Consumer Marketing Team, you will be responsible for the consumer brand marketing strategy and execution in a way that is consistent and complementary to Twitter’s global brand.
Demonstrate the value of Twitter for consumers and shift perceptions in-market
Collaborate closely with the marketing and product teams in San Francisco and ensure that local initiatives are consistent with global strategy
Manage creative process and the entire breadth for all consumer advertising initiatives for Japanese market
Collaborate with all stakeholders in Japanese market and Twitter HQ at San Francisco to optimize in-market efforts and ensure alignment across Consumer Marketing
Build and own the entire Consumer marketing function and work closely with B2B marketing lead, ad sales, BD and content partnership teams in Japan market
Manage marketing planning process, development, measurement and reporting
Desired Skills and Experience
8+ years of marketing experience - a mix of client and agency experience highly desirable.
A clear track record of defining, nurturing and growing brands globally.
Deep expertise in planning and taking products / brands to market.
Experience working with world class creative teams and managing agency relationships.
Expertise in content marketing and social media highly desirable. Strong creative and editorial sensibilities.
Independent, flexible self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high volume environment
A leader who can set vision and inspire others.
Full fluency in both Japanese and English (Speaking, Reading & Writing)
